Favoring and simplifying access to metal additive manufacturing technologies: this is Prima Additive's motto from its foundation to today.

In line with this principle, the Prima Industrie Group company today announces the launch of a marketplace dedicated to the additive manufacturing of metal components. The platform will be developed in collaboration with MORPHICA, one of the leading 3D printing service bureaus in Southern Italy, as well as the owner of an on-demand manufacturing platform initially dedicated to polymer printing. The MORPHICA marketplace was supported by the tender from the PRIA4.0 competence center and reached maturity this year, finally finding the interest of Prima Additive and its network and the CIM4.0 competence center in Turin as a pilot line.

Through the "Prima Additive Marketplace", it will therefore be possible to request the creation of components produced with Prima Additive metal additive manufacturing machines, both with Powder Bed Fusion technology and Direct Energy Deposition technology. On the website, the user can directly request the printing of the component or a dedicated consultancy, functional to the realization of an application study. In this way, it's possible to validate application cases, explore the potential of additive manufacturing, analyze the re-engineering opportunities of its component, and identify the main advantages and possible problems.

The new Prima Additive Marketplace is accessible from the URL: https://marketplace.primaadditive.com

The main strength of the marketplace will be the integration of the three partners. In fact, this platform will bring together the experience of Prima Additive as a manufacturer of machinery, that of CIM4.0 as a service provider, and that of Morphica as an IT infrastructure.
Prima Additive will make its network of Prima Open Additive Labs available to the platform, as well as its machine customers, who will thus have the opportunity to saturate their additive systems.

The contribution and the partnership with the Competence Center of Turin CIM4.0 were very important. In fact, the Competence Center, in addition to having supported the development both financially (co-financing the last mile of development with the PMTI Call) and technically, by carrying out part of the Beta test of the new platform. CIM4.0 will be involved in the future for the part related to application studies, to the analysis and qualification of the case studies of the marketplace users, and to carry out the necessary consultancy from the implementation of the additive and the re-engineering of the components.

Finally, Morphica plays a fundamental role in the project as it will provide the IT infrastructure already developed for its proprietary marketplace. In fact, this platform is based on a Marketplace-as-a-Service concept, which can be customized and adapted to the needs of different players, to allow anyone to create their own marketplace dedicated to 3D printing.

What makes this initiative unique is its strong "Made in Italy" connotation, with the involvement of three excellences in the field of additive manufacturing, but also its focus on metal, a branch of 3D printing little considered by other platforms on the market today.

«The launch of this Marketplace is a further step in the Prima Additive strategy, which leads to a real digitalization of production - says Paolo Calefati, CEO of Prima Additive - Among the revolutionary aspects of additive manufacturing is the possibility of producing on demand, only when needed, without the need to store large quantities of pieces in the warehouse and our platform fits into this groove, allowing companies to access additive manufacturing in an easy and accessible way even without owning a machine. On the other hand, this initiative, proudly Made in Italy, is not only an opportunity for Prima Additive and Morphica, but it is also an opportunity for all Prima Additive customers and partners, who can thus add a new channel to receive application requests, increasing their machine utilization rate and thus further increasing the profitability of this technology»
