Prima Additive's presence is extended on the Italian territory: a partnership agreement was signed in recent days between the Turin company and Morphica s.r.l., which thus joins the Prima Open Additive Labs network.

Morphica is an innovative SME, based in Monopoli (BA) and active since 2016 in the additive manufacturing and digital services sector. Over the years it has established itself as a reference point for 3D printing recognized throughout Italy, also thanks to its 3D Marketplace, which allows anyone to approach the world of 3D printing with ease and flexibility. In addition, Morphica provides 3D design services, 3D scanning, and reverse engineering and promotes the training of 3D printing skills by organizing classes and online courses.

As Prima Open Additive Lab, Morphica will act as Prima Additive's demo room for Southern Italy, will provide training courses on metal additive manufacturing on-site, and will take care of Prima Additive after sales within its own area of expertise.

Inside the Morphica laboratories, there is currently installed a Print Sharp 150, a Prima Additive machine entirely Made in Italy equipped with a single 500 W IR laser and a build volume of Ø 150 x 160 mm. This machine is particularly suitable for the production of small components in steel, aluminum, nickel, titanium, chromium-cobalt, and copper alloys. Due to its compact size, it is particularly suitable for the typical processes of sectors such as jewelry, design objects, and, above all, medical and dental: industry, the latter, which on Morphica can boast a strong experience already gained on polymer printing, which will now be extended to metal additive manufacturing applications.

In addition to these activities, Prima Additive and Morphica will jointly develop a marketplace dedicated to 3D printing of metal components, which will be presented at the BIMU fair in Milan and which will use end users to request on-demand printing of components, which will be made using the machines of Prima Additive customers and affiliates of the Prima Open Additive network.

The Prima Open Additive Labs network is an important element of Prima Additive's Open Innovation strategy. A community of qualified partners - universities, public and private research centers, innovation hubs - who support Prima Additive in assisting customers, acting as contact points located on the national and international territory. The Prima Open Additive Labs are thus the protagonists of a process of co-innovation and consulting with customers on an effective activity in metal additive manufacturing.

The official presentation of the agreement between Prima Additive and Morphica and the inauguration of the area dedicated to the new Print Sharp 150 will take place on Friday 23 September at 16:00 at the Morphica headquarters, located in via Eugenio Montale 3 in Monopoli (BA).

«The agreement with Morphica is strategic for us since it gives us the opportunity to be present in Southern Italy, a territory full of opportunities that are largely yet to be explored - says Gianfranco Carbonato, President of Prima Additive s.r.l. - Being able to count on a qualified partner like this allows us to expand our range of action not only in geographical terms but also in terms of business: the experience of our partner in new 3D printing will be fundamental in the development of business models which can further help us make metal additive manufacturing an increasingly competitive technology».
